I have a Rescue Dog who I just recently got about 3 weeks ago. He is a rat terrier. He was badly abused and the way he acts was hit by his male owner. As I have see signs of this in the way he acts. At first he was terrified by me and everybody. With lots of love and patience I have him calmed down somewhat. He still scared of me somewhat. Yet he is totally devoted to me. As he wants to be with me non-stop 24 hours of the day. My main problem is that I can’t go any where. As he has anxiety disorder badly. When I leave he cry’s and scratches at the door or whines. I have tried putting him in the crate when I leave. He does the same thing. Except he scratches at the crate door. I stepped outside the door. Being very quiet making no noises. That doesn’t matter because he keeps making his noises and scratching on the door or crate. Even if I am outside the door 5 minutes to 1 hour. He seems to not give in and cause havoc. He is a determined dog to not give in. I am thinking about buying a Theromone plug in and see if that works. It costs $39.95 plus tax. But I heard it may work and not work. Mine you I am not rich. I am on Social Security. So my money sources are slim. If you can help me with this issue. I would appreciate it. I have tried the 5 minute trick with the door trick. Leaving 5 minutes. Then coming back inside again. Doing this within every so many minutes. That hasn’t helped. I am wits end here. I’m not giving up. Because I love him a lot. And he loves me. But he does have trust issues. Please help me. His name is Zeke. This is about my 4 th Rescue Dog here. My last Rescue Dog died 2 weeks before Christmas. He was 13 years old. Ready to turn next month 14 years old. But didn’t make it to 14. As he had a Stroke. Now I have my New Rescue dog Zeke. Who I love to death and means the world to me. And means everything to me. And is my life. Yes, he is very spoiled. ? Can you give me some advise?
